STORY
This is the garden of a Jodo sect temple that has existed since the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1597). We dismantled the garden, which had been neglected for many years, and then reconstructed it while making use of the existing vegetation and stone structures. Set to the rhythm of a waka poem compiled from a princess's story passed down at the temple, this garden reinterprets the sect's teachings that speak of the scenery that unfolds along the path [process] and the diversity of choices made along it, focusing on the "path" itself. On this path that connects the other world (the Pure Land) and this world (Here now), encounters and partings intersect.
