STORY

国登録有形⽂化財に指定され、現在はビジネスサロンとして開かれる九段ハウス（旧⼭⼝萬吉邸）の庭。GHQに接収された戦後の歴史やスパニッシュ⾵の近代建築など異国の⾜跡や模様が⾊濃くのこる場所。ここに和でも洋でもない「夢国籍」でフラットな⼼地よさを素材レベルで設計。周囲のいきものの営みによって環境が⽣成されていく、⾃由な変化を前提とした庭。

This is the garden of Kudan House (former Mankichi Yamaguchi `s residence), which has been designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property, and is currently opened as a business salon. This place has traces of foreign countries, including the history of the post-war period taken over by GHQ and modern Spanish-style architecture. We designed a flat and comfortable environment at the material level based on the concept of a ''world without nationality'' that is neither Japanese nor Western. This garden welcomes the free change in the environment created by the activities of surrounding creatures.
